Most Recent Dream

clothes
  • Self-expression
  • The way the dreamer thinks the wearer wants to portray themselves to others
  • How the dreamer thinks the wearer is trying to control others'—or even their own—image of themselves (such as kids wanting to dress older to try to get people to believe they are older)
  • A role the person plays (as in a uniform)—or would like to play (as in little girls playing dress-up like princesses)
  • Protection—especially self-protection of boundaries, as in protecting oneself from being taken advantage of or judged (for example, cold-weather clothing representing an attempt to protect oneself from hatred, bad will, etc. in real life
  • A characteristic associated with the type of clothing, such as culture, age group, or personality type
Clothing can also convey the setting of the dream—such as warm-weather clothes representing something that happened last summer, or high-fashion clothing representing Paris, or saddle-shoes representing the 1950s. Your subconscious mind might also use clothing to establish the mood or timeline of a dream.
cowboyConsider what comes to mind when you think of cowboys (or cowgirls). Examples include:
  • A person who manages others or keeps them in line (as a cowboy manages cattle)
  • Freedom or independence
  • Cowboy-related activities such as horseback riding
  • A certain geographic region you associate with cowboys
  • A certain historic time period
  • Romantic ideals

familyFamily often represent members of your real family, whether they look like themselves or not. A family you don't know may still represent your actual family, or they may represent another group you interact with in real life, such as a friends or co-workers.

friendlySomeone being friendly can mean you consider that person to be a source of good will, approval, liking, helpfulness, support, etc. Consider who or what the person represents (certain person in real life, people in general, a certain environment or aspect of your life, the world, etc.)

houseA house, apartment, flat, or any place of residence often represents you or your life, even if the dream residence does not resemble your actual residence. The events in the dream residence may represent events in your life. A house can also represent security, comfort, protection, familiarity, or belonging.
Also consider the mood and condition of the house (a dreary house might represent depression or sadness, a house with missing windows might represent personal boundary issues, etc.) and anything that particularly stands out about the house.

likingLiking someone or something can have many different meanings, depending on context and the exact nature of the liking. In general, it can represent positive feelings towards the thing or person, or whatever they represent. For more clues to meaning, consider the exact nature of the feeling of "like," such as good will, familiarity, attraction, respect, approval, etc.
manA man can represent many different things. For clues to his meaning, consider the context of the man and your feelings about him.
A man you know in real life may represent that actual person or the type of role he plays in your life (supervisor, father, friend, doctor, business person, etc.).
Whether you know the man or not, he may represent:
  • The key characteristics that stand out about him in the dream, such as humor, protectiveness, masculinity, intelligence, etc.
  • Stereotypical masculine characteristics such as protectiveness, strength, assertiveness or aggression, or logical thinking

selfYou usually represent yourself or your life, desires, fears, imagination, or other aspects of yourself.

wantingWanting, desiring, or being attracted to something can represent:
  • Actually wanting that thing, or imagining what it would be like if you had it
  • A want, need, or desire for something other than that actual object, so also consider what the object represents
  • Feeling deprived in general or feeling like you have to "go without" right now
  • Greed, or a desire for power, control, or possession
